Is this a viable solution to the Pac 12 dilemma?

We've heard all of the issues:

- The Pac 12 doesn't want anyone to have their own network
- The Pac 12 wants all of its athletic departments to share rev equally
- Texas can't keep LHN if it joins the Pac 12

And so on......

Abandoning the LHN after such a short stint, and after it looks so polished and has such a bright future, is a tough pill to swallow, especially with the $ being generated for the academic side of the university during tough times.

I there a way for this to be worked out so that it makes the Pac 12 and Texas happy? I think there is........

Everything in life is about $. Both sides will need to give a little. The deal should be this......Texas will be allowed to keep the LHN as is.......the $5 million/year promised to the academic side of the university will still be allocated BUT, the balance will be given to the Pac 12/16 to be divide equally. If this is about competitive balance and fairness in athletics, the University of Texas athletics department will make no more from the LHN than any other Pac 12/16 school's athletics department.

As for Tech, they get rolled into the OU/Okie State regional network which those 2 schools should love since it increases their exposure throughout the state of Texas.

Is $5 million a year going not to the University of Texas athletics department but to the academic side of the university worth it to the Pac 12/16 to bring in all of the eyeballs in Texas watching TV? I think it is.....

To recap:

- all Pac 12/16 athletic departments have equal shares of everything
- the financial commitments to the academic side of the University of Texas from the LHN are still honored
- Texas gets to keep the LHN for its 3rd tier football rights and non-football sports, functioning as a stand alone Pac 12/16 sub-network.

What am I missing?
