Oregon waits to get Tresseled, Denial is in full force.

I'm a judge, jury, and investigator. Really? Your not a journalist with any factual substance. You are on a witch hunt. You had a personal phone call with Chip and you think you blew the case open eh? Your still pissed off at Oregon because of Belotti and the fact that Chip punked you repeatedly on the radio. You don't get it do you? Oregon isn't the end-all to the worlds cheaters and liars. I like that YOU are the do gooder to out those AWFUL oregon cheaters. Chip Kelly isn't going anywhere. He's a good guy and a good coach. If you investigated any football program in America from NAIA to NCAA, you would find similiar inpropriarties. Your on a witch hunt to hurt Oregon athletics, but you will only be hurting the Oregon economy. Karma has its ways of reeling its ugly head. I like OSU and UofO. As a matter of fact, I like all college teams in Oregon and support all athletics in this my home state. We're no more cheaters then you are. In fact John, I'd have to say that its probably pretty easy to dig up stuff from your life too if someone tries hard enough. Oregon needs are support and not some two bit journalist who thinks he's uncovered watergate. Our state needs to promote successful support for college sports to help our starving economy. Firing Chip and vindicating Oregon for what YOU think is SOOOO awful is just your small time presence. You aren't the man John. Never will you earn that kind of respect for thinking your god.

Willie Lyles - Something just isn't right here. He proclaims he's innocent, never influenced kids, and then says the Ducks used him? I smell something fishy going on. Either way the dude is a douch# and Kelly probably regrets using him for recruiting information.

Is it a violation for someone to arrange a change of custody for purposes of establishing who can sign a letter of intent?  Not that I have read.  Is it a violation to get someone to donate money for tutoring where the school is in no way involved?  Is it a violation to give rides to coach?  Is it a violation to suggest that a kid can graduate from high school by changing school districts?  Is it a violation to arrange travel and scheduling of recruits' visits to a school?  I assume non-coaches on a school's payroll do that all of the time. I don't see violations in any of that.  If there is information that Lyles sold oral evaluations  to Oregon that would be a problem, but I doubt that happened.  Oregon didn't need that advice.  So if there is a smoking gun, please indicate what specific violations were involved.  Schools can have employees and contractors other than coaches.  It is just that there activities are limited.

We are only hearing one side, would love to hear chip speak out on this as he said he's chomping at the bit to speak his piece on this.
When you only hear one side...the opinions formed are pretty much going to be one sided.
But as I've said the entire time on this, IF Oregon has done something wrong, I can deal with what ever the NCAA feels are appropriate measures to take.
I'm really curious though. Glazier, as a former ncaa investigatior himself, has always used the tactic that whoever he is representing, they are to come clean and admit whatever infractions they have made, if any,  and cooperate with the NCAA 100%.
It's been Oregon's policy in this since the allegations came public that the Oregon staff has committed no infractions, and have done everything to cooperate with the ncaa.
someone is not as they appear...We'll see.

For a news organization, they sure seem to have a lot of journalists who don't remember the first lesson of J101--Drop your big stories early in the week. Perception wise, they did Oregon a huge favor by dropping the story today--maybe one of the worst news days of the year (would be a great time for a politician to admit to some misdeeds, etc.). A Friday combined with a national holiday next Monday (when a lot of people took today off to begin with) means a majority of people won't be catching up on news until Tuesday AM--at which point there will likely be some new big scandal dominating the headlines.

Is it not relevant that Lyles recent quotes conflict with earlier quotes....is he lying now or was he lying earlier? This scenario usually negates one another. If he is now telling the truth (as an U of O alum) I am prepared to accept the consequences but I refuse to judge Chip before I hear his response.Regarding the hand written notes, they do not directly implicate any NCAA rule violation.

Back in March and April:
1) UO said we did nothing wrong
2) Lyle said he did nothing wrong
3) Lache said he didn't pick Oregon because of Lyle
4) Lache's mom said she didn't get any money from anyone
Reaction from the mob " Lies, lies, all lies"
Today
1) Lyle says ok, I'm going to change some of my story.
Reaction from the mob "Yesssssssssss, it must be true!!!!"
BTW, regardless of what Lyle said today, the facts are he did have a recuriting service and advertised it as such. Oregon bought his service, as did a bunch of other schools. It's not against the rule to buy crappy products, just ask any recent Husky season ticket holders! However it could be against the Rule to knowingly put out a defective product.

FWIW, I think he's a fraud.
The handwriting in the two notes shown in the Yahoo article were done by the same person with the same handwriting style. Check out the "Will", "your help" and the way "ou" run together in both letters. Also, compare Chip Kelly's signatures to those on Ebay and on other items. I don't know who wrote those two letters, but the same person wrote them.

From someone who has lived in Texas and attended/coached at a powerhouse football high school, let me give my two cents.
This is how the game is played down here. Unfortunately, there are a lot of top prospects (football and basketball) with no positive male role models in their lives. No fathers, sometimes no mothers as well, and they are raised by grandparents or older family members. These kids are preyed upon by "uncles" like Will Lyles, who will tell you they are just trying to help the kid (and they do help in the short-run) but in the long-run, they have one motive--hope the kid hits it big and leach some of his money.
High school football coaches SHOULD be positive role models as well, but they too have their own agendas. Each of the major high schools in the state have coaching staffs loyal to certain programs. There are UT schools, A&M schools, OU schools etc. etc. My high school had a big-time prospect attend LSU and get kicked out because of his own stupid mistakes...but the coaches are too loyal to the kid and refuse to admit his wrong-doings....now LSU coaches are banned from the school's campus. Coaches handle the mail for many of the kids, and discard letters from schools they don't "trust"--not allowing the kids to make their own decisions.

I thought they were written by the same person too but there are differences too in some of the lettering where some of them look exactly the same. Chip or someone from the UOFO needs to publicly say something if they feel they are not guilty. Given this new evidence that is publicly shown right now it's better to say something than "no comment". If someone was falsely accusing me or my family of something I would definitely stand up for myself and let it be known that I was innocent.

A Yahoo Sports investigation is a bit different than the NCAA my friend.  Everyone has known for a LONG time that there was an inquiry.  Where is the smoking gun though?  Please someone point out the smoking gun???
He does say in that article that he did provide recruiting info and never says that yes, I  delivered Lache or anyone else to Oregon.

The guy runs a crap recruiting service and didn't get the 25K for the next year, so he's bent and spouts off. Yahoo was there to pick up the pieces of a story. This tells us nothing new, other than Lyles is pissed at Oregon for not giving him another 25k. He ruined his reputation as a scout by not providing a proper service. Oregon screwed up by getting messed up with this clown.
